Tomato Knife? Must Buy!

Ok... so I might be a sucker for kitchen gadgets, and yes - they do end up in that drawer we all know as the bottomless pit of who knows what. But I promise that this one is worth the hefty $5.99 price tag. It is a knife made especially for cutting tomatoes. Hopefully I'm not the only one who, when chopping my red ripened friends  has a "dammit" moment because every knife I have manages to 'smoosh' the skin and therefore ruining what was supposed to be a perfect slice or dice. Enter, exhibit A.

I happened upon this strange little guy at The Great Indoors. It was an impulse buy, of course. I mean who goes shopping with a list that has a tomato knife on it? Anyways, back to the point. This softly serrated blade slices through the skin of the softest tomato without so much as making a dent in the oh-so delicate fruit. I'm really not sure why the tip is large and round, but it makes scooping that slices off the cutting board a snap!!
